Job Description:

Directs production and distribution operations for a plant or assigned territory of Heartland Co-op by performing the following duties:

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates production, distribution, maintenance, housekeeping and warehousing in accordance with policies, principles and procedures established by Heartland Co-op, Location Manager and Regional Manager.
  • Develops plans and overseas operations for efficient use of materials, machines and custom applicators.
  • Drives vehicle, loader or fork lift to transport items to and from warehouse or to pick up items from several locations.
  • Contributes to an efficient application process to achieve desired custom application results.
  • Reviews expenses and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of locations.
  • Assists with the preparation of accounting records (sales, inventory, prepay and expenses) for the location or assigned territory.
  • Recommends budgets to location manager.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and commercial insurability at all times.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Computer Skills:

Able to use computer equipment related to inventory, work orders, billing and on blending equipment. An individual should have knowledge of AS 400 accounting software.

 

Certificates and Licenses:

May be required to maintain a current weighing license and grain grading certificate.

Must maintain a valid driver’s license and commercial insurability at all times.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Within parameters set by Location Manager, Mix Plant Manager willdirectly supervise employees in the location. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include involvement levels of interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
